Recipe for New York style snow ice cream
When given storms of snow and ice, make Snow Ice Cream!
With the large amount of snow that continues to fall across New York State, I thought that it might be time to try this winter recipe for snow ice cream. I have always been skeptical about the concept – is it a viable recipe or one with no culinary merit that was invented as a wives’ tale? It is actually very tasty, much like a milk and vanilla flavored granita. It would make a lovely (and novel) ending for any Americana-based meal (assuming that it is snowing or that there is freshly fallen snow).

When I was growing up (Brooklyn – 65th Street Between 10th & 11th Avenue) my Grandmother would make this for us! Brings back many happy memories!
