On Saturday September 15, 2018, enjoy a warm summer afternoon with delicious farm-to-table cocktail party fare prepared with local ingredients from New York City’s urban farmers and local food producers. Appetizers, salads, hors d’ oeuvres, desserts and drinks will be crafted from ingredients sourced from New York City’s finest growers, food artisans, and beverage producers.
Guests will enjoy the opportunity to interact with Bed-Stuy and Brooklyn’s up and coming local chefs and culinary makers, while mingling in one of Brooklyn’s most scenic gardens – the Bed-Stuy Farm. The Pop-up will also feature live acoustic musical performances and an art display from local artists and makers. Brooklyn Bred, the Organic Food Incubator , Brooklyn Brine, the Horticultural Society of New York, the Brooklyn Grange, and the YMCA Farm Project are just a few of the producers who whose produce and products will be featured during Saturday’s event. Beverages will include mint seltzer and herbal iced tea (prepared from herbs from the Bed-Stuy Farm), and beer from Mikkeller Brewery. The chef line-up includes Williamsburg local Grant Springer, Brooklyn native Jillian Naveh, Noah Sheetz and Geetha Jayaraman of Spoon and Sprout Catering.
Proceeds from the event will be donated to the educational programs of the Brooklyn Rescue Mission and Bed-Stuy Farm in an effort to support our next generation of local urban farmers.
